Aluminum production has risen by about 25 per cent in Iran in the first six months of this year, according to the director of the provincial Al-Mahdi Aluminum Production Complex, Abdolmahdi Rezazadeh.

About 12,432 tons of aluminum were produced and marketed inside and outside the country over the first half of the year (which started March 21), he said. Rezazadeh told IRNA that aluminum production for the period showed 25 per cent growth, compared to the figure for the same period last year.

About 2,053 tons of the aluminum produced over the period were exported to India, the UAE and Japan, while the remainder was sold to domestic consumers.
