The Iranian Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Gholam-Hossein
Bolandian arrived in Ankara on Monday as the head of a delegation to take part
in the eighth session of security talks between the two countries, IRNA reports.
Turkish Deputy Interior Minister Muzeffer Ecemis welcomed the Iranian delegation at Ankara airport. The security cooperation will start from Tuesday for two days to discuss border security, cooperation in the campaign against drug trafficking as well as exchange of views about the latest events in the region.
The Iranian delegation will hold talks with Turkish Minister of the Interior Rusto Kazim Yucelen during its stay in Ankara. The eighth session of Iran-Turkey security talks are expected to lead to the signing a pact on joint measures to protect the border areas. Members of Iran-Turkey Commission on Security Cooperation will also tour the border areas. The seventh session of the commission was held in Tehran last year.
